Marriage Intensive | In-Person & Virtual

One day to do what
weekly sessions
cannot.

Some things cannot wait. Some situations need more than an hour a week to move through. The Marriage Intensive is a full day of undistracted, focused work with Ra'Shunda and Jason — both of them in the room, completely focused on you.

Serving Katy,Texas and across the US online.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF…

  • Have tried therapy or coaching before but need something more immersive to create real momentum

  • Are navigating a major life transition — new baby, job loss, relocation, blended family — that is putting extraordinary pressure on the marriage

  • Want to go deep in one focused experience rather than building slowly over months

  • Are at a crossroads and need to make a decision about the marriage — together, with support

  • Are recovering from a significant breach of trust and need to move faster than weekly sessions allow

WHY AN INTENSIVE

Weekly sessions are built for steady work.
This is for a different moment.

Ra'Shunda and Jason Adams, premarital coaches and married couple, Katy TX

There are seasons in a marriage where the pace of weekly sessions is not enough. Something has happened, or been building for years, that requires more than fifty minutes at a time to actually work through. The space between sessions becomes the problem — too much time to retreat, to revert, to lose what was just built.

The Marriage Intensive compresses months of work into one day. No week-to-week pacing. No retreating between sessions. Just Ra'Shunda and Jason, both in the room, working through what is actually happening and leaving with a clear path forward.

This is not crisis intervention. It is for couples who are ready to do the hard work and want the conditions to actually make it happen.

Undistracted. All day.

No scheduling around work and life. One full day — yours completely. The kind of focus that actually moves things.

Both of them in the room.

Ra'Shunda holds the structure and the clinical attentiveness. Jason holds the male perspective. Neither of you has to fight to be understood.

Custom to your situation.

No script. No generic curriculum. The day is built around what you are actually carrying — before you arrive.

WHAT TO EXPECT

How the day is structured

Every intensive is different because every couple is different. But the shape of the day follows a consistent structure, from assessment to deep work to integration.

BEFORE THE DAY

Pre-intensive assessment

Both partners complete a written pre-assessment individually. Ra'Shunda and Jason review the responses before the day begins — so the session does not start with intake, it starts with work.

MORNING

Opening and orientation

The day begins with both partners sharing where they are: what brought them here, what they are hoping for, and what they are afraid of. Ra'Shunda and Jason hold this with structure and without judgment.

MIDDAY

Deep work

This is the core of the intensive. The specific work varies by couple — it might be naming the cycle underneath the conflict, rebuilding after a breach of trust, or working through a decision that has stalled. Ra'Shunda and Jason go where the couple needs to go.

AFTERNOON

Integration and path forward

The day closes with a clear plan — what shifted, what was practiced, and what comes next. Couples leave with something concrete, not just a feeling. A follow-up session is included to check in two weeks after the intensive.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you reach out for a marriage intensive.

  • Coaching. Ra'Shunda and Jason offer this as a coaching service through The B-Side of Marriage. It is not licensed clinical therapy. If you need a clinical intensive — especially around trauma, mental health, or discernment counseling — Ra'Shunda can point you to the appropriate clinical resource through Aim for Healing Therapy, PLLC.

  • Yes. The intensive requires both partners to be present and engaged for the full day. It is not designed for a reluctant participant — the work requires both people to show up ready to be honest. If one partner is not there yet, the discovery call is the place to work through that.

  • Yes — and this is one of the most common reasons couples come to an intensive. Discernment work — figuring out whether to stay or go — requires exactly the kind of focused, structured time an intensive provides. You do not have to have already decided to stay for this to be valuable.

  • That is expected and it is what Ra'Shunda and Jason are trained for. The intensive is designed to go to the hard places — that is the point. Both of them are in the room precisely so that neither partner has to feel alone when things get difficult.

  • Typically two to four weeks out, depending on availability. If your situation is urgent, mention that during the inquiry — Ra'Shunda and Jason do their best to accommodate when timing is critical.

  • A follow-up session is included two weeks after to check in on what has held, what has been difficult, and what needs continued attention. Some couples transition to ongoing coaching after an intensive. Others use it as a standalone reset. That conversation happens on the follow-up call.

The inquiry call is free and takes about 20 minutes. Ra'Shunda and Jason will tell you honestly whether the intensive is the right fit for where you are right now.
