The First Years Are The Best Years

The first years are the best years

THE FIRST YEARS OF YOUR MARRIAGE ARE NOT THE BEST YEARS!

We believe that marriage gets better with time just like a good wine ages with time.

After 12+ years of marriage, @jota31 and I know each other very well. We can identify mood shifts just by looking at each other, we can feel when our family and life rhythms need to shift. We are best friends and have

created memorable moments on a Ramen noodle budget and a lamp chop and lobster budget.

Our experiences have cemented our bond.

When you're newlyweds, your spouse can do no wrong. Y'all are still making googly eyes at each other, sleeping without your bonnet, and not being your true selves from each other. But the day-to-day responsibilities begin to wear on your relationship as you build a career, buy a house, or maybe start a family. You're having to create this joint life with a person who has had a whole life before saying "I do".

In the first years, you are laying the foundation of what your marriage will be built on; which takes a lot of work and energy. In later years, you will go through different trials, but since you have a solid foundation, there are no worries about your house (marriage) falling down.

Confidence is built through adversity and perseverance.
